*NEW SHOW ALERT!!!* *NEW SHOW ALERT!!!* Amanda
is scheduled to perform at Sin-é
on Sunday, April 1st, 2007 @ 8pm!!!
[01.23.07] Check out Amanda's MySpace page!
[01.20.04] To the Beat Productions'
"Music Inspired By Lowe's" CD, which features a
new Amanda Kravat song, is now available via tothebeat.com & lowes.com!
[12.18.03] Amanda's contribution to the
"Music Inspired By Lowe's" CD is a lovely new
song called "Moving Day". The song has been
gathering a lot of buzz, as the Lowe's sponsored reality
show 'House Rules' has apparently been playing bits of it
during the last few episodes. Fans of the show have been
flocking to its official msgboard, asking about the song!
Hear it for yourself, as you can now hear a 30 second
sample of it at tothebeat.com!
[12.09.03] It's been awhile, but Amanda
is scheduled to perform at The Makor on Tuesday, December 16th!
[09.25.03] After being "unavailable"
for several weeks, it's good to know that 'Wrong All Day'
is once again available at Amazon.com! The album is also now available
at CDbaby.com!
[09.15.03] With the help of To the Beat Productions, Amanda has written and recorded a
song for home improvement giant Lowe's. Soon the store
will be offering "a CD designed to meet customer
demand for the music". It's possible that the song
will also be featured in their commercials.
[02.18.03] Amanda is currently hard at
work on a new album! Details are currently unknown, but
she says "this collection of songs is really
about the vocals, lyrics ...and harmonies ...and letting
people hear what [she has] to say"!
[02.04.03] Amanda is scheduled to
perform at The Makor on February 19th! Also, Never
Again -which features music by Amanda- is now available
on VHS & DVD.
[01.03.03] A new "ditty" - Don't Close
All The Windows (formerly Knocking On Your Cocoon) -
debuted during tonight's Bitter End show!
[12.30.02] Amanda will be celebrating
the new year with a performance at The Bitter End on Friday, January 3rd!
[10.25.02] Amanda will be taking part in The
Bottom Line's
Nightbird special - A Celebration of Women Performers on
Friday, November 1st. And don't forget, she's also
scheduled to perform at The Bitter End on Friday, November 8th.
[10.08.02] Since things have been rather
slow lately, I decided to tap Amanda for some news. She
was kind enough to tell me that she has an upcoming show
on Friday, November 8th @ The Bitter End in NYC. She also mentioned "working
on first track for new album with Rich Mercurio".
[08.10.02] Amanda will be opening up for
singer/songwriter Neshama Carlebach at The
Bottom Line in NYC
on Thursday, August 22nd!!!
[07.12.02] Hear new music by Amanda (including
"Wouldn't Be This") in Eric Schaeffer's latest
film, Never
Again (USA Films)
- in theatres today!!!
[07.07.02] Amanda will be performing at
the Makor in NYC on July 30th!!!
[06.16.02] You can catch a small (and
quick) glimpse of Amanda in the trailer for the new Eric
Schaeffer film, Never Again. (Hint: She's in the newspaper!)
[03.21.02] As a big treat for Marry Me
Jane fans, amandakravat.com is now featuring "The Dessau
Demos" for download! These were the songs (in their
original forms) that got the band signed to Sony/Epic
back in 1995!
[12.13.01] With 'Never
Again' due in the
theatres soon, I think it's safe to say that the music
line-up for the film is final. According to Terence Michael's website, Amanda contributed
three songs: "Steady Now" (which is available
on the new cd, 'Wrong All
Day'), "Wouldn't
Be This" (which you can hear on amandakravat.com), and "Pinky's Theme".
As mentioned back in May, Eric Schaeffer is actually
listed as a co-writer to Pinky's Theme (The Chili Song).
Apparently, this song is a duet by sung by Amanda and
Eric! Also, I came across an interesting mention of
Amanda from when she was often referred to as that girl
"Jane". Five years ago (December 13th, 1996),
Amanda took part in Glen Burtnik's 6th Annual Xmas
Xtravaganza at the
Bottom Line in NYC. There, she peformed a self-written
Christmas song - "Santa, This Has Got To Stop"
- described as "a funny song about being a Jewish
girl at Christmas time". Apparently, the evening was
so festive that she tossed bagels into the audience. It
was described as being "far out". Does this
song still exist?! Was it ever recorded?! Will it ever
see the light of day?! Who knows!!
[10.19.01] As of this morning, if you go
to amandakravat.com you'll see a flashy little logo
promoting the new mp3 addition to the Ear Candy section!
The song is "Wouldn't Be This" and is written
by Amanda & Glenn Rosenstein (whom you may remember
from producing Marry Me Jane's debut album). It's
featured in (writer/director) Eric Schaeffer's new film,
Never Again, which is due out in the first quarter of
next year (March 2002). Be sure to give the song a listen
and post your thoughts on the official bulletin board!
Hopefully, this is a preview of what to expect of her
major-label (solo) debut!
[09.28.01] According to eMarker's website, their service will be shutting
down at the end of this month. Now if you recall back in
June, Billboard mentioned (in a write-up regarding the
new CD) something about Amanda taking part in Emarker's
summer tour. This being September and already into fall,
obviously a "summer" tour is out of the
question. However, it doesn't mean that it just wasn't
pushed and/or delayed. But if Sony is cancelling their
service, it's rather doubtful that they'll be sponsoring
any sort of tour!
[09.24.01] Today, I was lucky enough to
obtain an extremely rare piece of Marry Me Jane
memorabilia! Finally in my posession, I hold the original
*full* version of their only music video, "Twentyone"
(directed by Bill Ward)!!! I will work on updating the
video page with more stills and perhaps a mpeg or two!
[09.13.01] Amanda (thankfully) is okay!
I received the following message regarding yesterday's
events: "dear friends, thank you for your
thoughts and prayers. my family/friends and i are safe
and sound here in new york city. hope you're as lucky as
we are. i finally got home via central park a few hours
after the wtc nightmare. i wouldn't dare to take public
transportation, but i live and work here in manhattan and
had an option. i thought about (as i'm sure you all did)
our parents or their parents or relatives and friends in
other countries, and how this zombie march home is
familiar to them. that it's random that i'm an american
and have been blessedly free from this fear. and how i
take that for granted and do anything less than insist on
others experiencing it. there was the strangest quiet
within this group of thousands walking in the same
direction. the woman i walked with was named natasha and
from the ukraine. i'll never forget our chat about how
much her family misses her, still over there, and will
insist she move back now. i have been accidentally spared
and don't think i'll ever forget that. thank you for all
your good wishes. and p.s. - you can bet your ass there's
a song or fifty in this."
[08.28.01] Amanda has finished recording
a new song entitled, "Wouldn't Be This". (If
you recall, this song was mentioned back in May. It
appears to be a collaboration with Glenn Rosenstein.) It
is set to be included in Eric Schaeffer's USA Film, 'Never
Again', which is due out in early 2002. Keep checking amandakravat.com for this song! Also, 'Wrong All
Day' has been
kicking butt on Amazon's Independent Charts! It is
currently residing at #1, #2, and #7 on their "Indie
Alternative Rock: Singer Songwriters", "Soundtrack:
General", and
"Alternative
Rock: General"
charts, respectively. Not to mention, it is also sitting
at #3 on their regular "Alternative
Rock: Singer Songwriters" chart which also includes mainstream
and Top 40 releases from artists/bands like Tori Amos,
etc. Check out the charts page for more information on
how well the CD is being received!
[07.01.01] Due to uncontrolable
circumstances (ie: Coolboard shutting down), the official
Amanda Kravat bulletinboard has moved! However, this
appears to be good news, as the board is now refered to
as "The
Amanda Kravat Forums" and the host (aimoo.com) looks to be very festive! Please be sure
to register and post! For those of you interested in
getting Amanda into your hometown for a show, swing by
the "Help Plan Amanda's Tour" section!
[06.22.01] Thanks to Lou Tambone and
Tracy Francese, there are now over twenty-some photos
available from Amanda's latest show at The
Bitter End show. (If
you have any more photos, a review, or anything else you'd
like to share, please e-mail me!) Also, thanks to Peter Reck, a guitar
tab for "Twentyone" is finally available! And
if you still haven't picked up your copy of Amanda's Wrong All
Day... what are
you waiting for?!
[06.05.01] As of today, Amanda's debut
solo album, 'Wrong All Day' is available through amazon.com! Also, Amanda was featured in
yesterday's Billboard Bits! According to the article, she
will be performing as part of Sony's eMarker summer tour and "plans to follow-up 'Wrong
All Day' with her proper solo debut"!!!
[06.01.01] Eric Schaeffer's 'Never Again'
(which features music by Amanda) has been picked up by
USA Films! You can read more about it on Terence
Michael's website!
[05.23.01] The setlist from Amanda's
latest performance from The Bitter End is now available (again,
thanks to Lou Tambone)!
[05.21.01] Apparently sometime recently,
Amanda wrote two new tunes! It's unclear as to whether or
not they are actual songs or if they're just score for a
film. But interestingly enough, one of them -"Pinky's
Theme (The Chilli Song)"- has Eric Schaeffer listed
as a co-writer. The other one -"Wouldn't Be This"-
looks to be a collaboration with Glenn Rosenstein.
[05.15.01] New Amanda show announced for
the NYC area! Check her out at The Bitter End next
Tuesday, May 22nd @ 7:30pm (ET)!
[05.08.01] Bruce Paltrow's Duets -in which Amanda played an
interesting part as "the redhead"- is now
available on VHS & DVD.
[04.18.01] Thanks to Lou Tambone, a
setlist and several beautiful pictures from the Bitter
End performance are now available for viewing. (Also,
many thanks to Tracy Francese for taking the photos!)
[04.01.01] Amanda is scheduled to
perform at The
Bitter End this
Thursday (April 5th).
[03.22.01] Thanks to Mateo Moreno, a
setlist and review from Amanda's Triad performance is now
available!
[03.19.01] If you pre-ordered the new CD,
keep an eye out on your mailbox because according to Kip
- the new cd is finally shipping!
[03.08.01] We have a release date on
Amanda's new CD! Here's what Kip had to say: "I
don't think any of us expected the cd to take as long as
it did. By including so many tracks from such a long time
period entailed much research and getting of permissions
to allow us to include said tracks... Barring any acts of
God or late manufacturing snafus, we should be releasing
the cd March 15th!!!" Also, Amanda is set to
perform at The Triad in NYC that night (Thursday, March
15th)!
[12.28.00] No definites or details yet,
but Amanda mentioned that she plans on being out and
about for a "solo acoustic tour" early next
year in support of the new album.
[12.23.00] Thanks to those who voted, Amanda can
now be seen in the Red and
Proud music
gallery!
[12.16.00] A "small but unstoppable
group of fans" were lucky enough to receive a
special "3 song sampler" from Amanda. This CD
included the songs "Beautifully Complicated",
"Dollhouse", and "Fraulein.
[12.13.00] Vote for Amanda Kravat as your
favorite "Famous Redhead" on the british
website, Red and
Proud!
[12.12.00] According to fellow fan Ross, the
hold up on the new CD is over and Amanda is "trying
to get the plant to do a rush burn".
[12.06.00] A new edition of the 'Twentyone or So
Questions' can now be found at amandakravat.com.
[11.13.00] Earlier tonight, Amanda performed at The Bitter End in the NY
Songwriters' Circle.
The shared acoustic set introduced a new song - "Somebody
Else's Driving". This song was included in the new
album's original track listing.
[11.09.00] Amanda will be playing The Bitter End on Monday, November 13th @ 8pm.
Her performance will be part of the NY
Songwriters' Circle:
BMI Night which is also set to feature Lisa Loeb and Jeff
Cohen!
[11.03.00] Fellow fan Jenn informs me that 'If
Lucy Fell' is due for DVD release on January 30th, 2001.
No word on the extras, yet.
[10.13.00] Lyrics to a few of the new songs are
now available at amandakravat.com. Kip also posted a new mp3,
entitled "Me and My Tree". This funky Christmas-esque
song is apparently a demo dated back from the days of
Marry Me Jane.
[09.28.00] Thanks to Kip, we now know Amanda is
adding another track to the new cd. The song, "Steady
Now", is dubbed as the theme from 'Never Again' (her
fourth film collaboration with Eric Schaeffer). As far as
its release, still no word.
[09.26.00] Amanda can be seen in the new film, 'Duets',
starring Gwyneth Paltrow. Kimberly tells us, "she
had a small part in the beginning" where she was
apparently getting it on with Huey Lewis." (Kip
confirms this!)
[09.10.00] Amanda's third film collaboration
with Eric Schaeffer, 'Wirey Spindell', is now available
for DVD/VHS preorder via most online stores! The film
features several of her new songs, including "Love
Me Like You Know Me". The VHS street date is October
3rd (with the DVD version being delayed until November 7th),
so depending on the status of Amanda's new cd... this may
be the soonest we'll get to hear her new music!
[08.29.00] According to fellow fan Sean, Amanda
was scheduled to play the North Star Bar in Philadelphia
tonight. However, he informs me that she apparently had
to cancel.
[08.26.00] Amanda is scheduled to perform at The Bitter End this Thursday (August 31st) at 7pm.
[07.20.00] Marry Me Jane was mentioned on
tonight's episode of VH1's The List (#350). "You
Didn't Kiss Me" was nominated for 'Best Song Lyrics'
by featured guest Eric Schaeffer. Eric described Amanda
as a "beautifully talented singer and songwriter"!
If anyone recorded this episode, please e-mail
me!
[07.19.00] Kip from amandakravat.com has sent a special request for all
us fans... "We're putting together an Ask Amanda 20
Questions area on the site, so if you guys want to pose
anything to her about the songs, Marry Me Jane, her fish,
or whatever, send me those questions at kip@high-voltage.com
and we'll try to include them soon!"
[07.01.00] According to Terence Michael's website, 'Never Again' wrapped up shooting
yesterday. So within the next few months, I would imagine
we'll find out if there will be any new music available.
[06.30.00] Insider Michael Miller reported
meeting Amanda while serving as an extra in Eric
Schaeffer's latest film, 'Never Again'. Apparently,
Amanda was on hand with her husband, Seth, and should be
seen in the background, during a bar scene!
[06.21.00] Kip has updated amandakravat.com with the front artwork and track
listing of the new album, 'Wrong All Day'. Unfortunately,
the song "For the Wrong Reasons" is not
included. However, three of the five songs that Amanda
collaborated with the guys from Crown Jewels are included!
[06.18.00] We're still waiting on the track
listing for the new Amanda CD, but it's possible that a
song called "For the Wrong Reasons" will be
included. Also, many thanks to Steve Conte who informed
me that his NYC band, Crown Jewels, teamed up with Amanda back in
March of '99 for the 'Wirey Spindell' soundtrack.
Together, they wrote five songs: "Beautifully
Complicated", "Dollhouse", "If You
See Kay", "One More Day", and "Rotten
Moon". There's a very good chance that some of these
songs will make it onto the new album!
[06.10.00] According to the website of film producer Terence Michael, Amanda
will once again be working with writer/director Eric
Schaeffer. She's listed as the composer for his fifth
feature film, 'Never Again'. This film is currently in
production and shooting in NYC, with a possible release
date of late 2001!
[06.01.00] As posted on amandakravat.com, Kip announced the title of Amanda's
(formerly self-titled) new CD, 'Wrong All Day'. It is set
to include music from two Eric Schaeffer films -'Fall'
and 'Wirey Spindell'- as well as some new material!!!
